I remember in Heroes ascend we were a group of mainly PUGs and we got to face another group of fairly well known rank 9 type guys. Anyway we had 4 monks and 4 warriors (stupid, stupid build and annoys the hell out of everyone because you just can't die and 9/10 times you win by default from quitters on the other team) and we kept it at a stalemate. After like over 30 minutes of fighting the leaders in both teams decided to roll a dice and the highest would win the match. Our leader rolled 3 on 100 and the other one rolled something else, let's say 25 of 100. So we all left

1. HA. Balanced (us, SoF) vs EoE

Played the warrior on a rare occasion, and killed the EoE asap. The funny thing is they kept saccing themselves still after the EoE was killed. GG Flawless.

2. GvG. SoF vs ....?

we're winning the match. VoD strikes. err 7 for 7 of our players, as well as 6 of them. Our remaining warrior hid a bit, and they left thankfully leaving the victory to us.

most amusing for me was in team arena with 3 guildies. i was ele and we had a monk another el and a warrior. we came up against a party of 3 monks and a warrior. the other ele and the warrior started beating on their monks who just kept healing each other while their warrior chased our monk in circles.. or at least he tried to. i was running a lot of warrior hate in my build so i just kept dumping him on his arse with gale blinding him with flash and generally irritating the hellout of him. this went on for like half an hour before we finally wore them down and scored a flawless victory

I remember my first GvG - with henchies!! Our leader (from a previous guild) forced us to GvG (by spamming the chat, of course) and took 4 henchies!!

It would be a total-noobie story for the fact that we steamrolled (and I mean that) the opposing team. Being a noob myself, I took fire build to play and actually wiped half the team out with nuke combos....I still lmao when I think of it...oh god...oh god...*falls from chair and spills the cofee all over...*...mwahahaha !

It was a total newbie fight (newbie civil war), and it was funny as hell...

The less funny part is, they tried to do it again (I dropped) with henchies and got some bad spanking.

Ok this happened last night and some of my guildies are still laughing about it so

We go into GvG, everything seems normal (cap flag stand, kill all the enemy npcs near the flag stand) then we notice that the enemy guild never left their base -_-;

We continue on like repairing the cata, head inside and noticed that the enemy guild was running........a minion factory build and camping their guild lord -_-;; There was soo many minions that I'd lag (literally freeze for a min) just getting within viewing distance of the guild lord. They tried egging us on in trying to just suicide charge them but we decided to wait for them to come out and cata them.

When they did finally come out, 1 direct hit from the catapult killed all their minions and pretty much all of their minion masters too! We finished off whoever was still alive and kill the guild lord finally. -_-;

We hit a MF build in GvG back when I was in IDK. Strangely enough we were running a smite build, with two copies of Balths Aura. Balthed up the warriors, protted them, and just ran them into the mass of minions. Most amusing.

Howsabout this:

Me, fresh off a Beacons Perch--Droks run, enter Random Arenas, and immediately "Enter Mission" (anyone see the problem yet?)

I open into the arena, with a team, and the conversation goes something like this:

Me: "Hi"
Everyone Else: "Hi"
Me: "What's the Strategy?"
Me again: "Oh *crap*" *actual saying deleted*
Me again: "I forgot to change off my running skills!"
Everyone Else: "LOL"

One player with NOTHING but running skills, and three others. Against a full team, including a Gale Warrior, Mesmer, Monk, etc.

I ran around doing nothing, basically, but the idiot Gale warrior CHASED me, and my other team members managed to pwn out their monk and mesmer. We won. I then quit, just so it would be fair

ah, my first hoh win!!!

It a very long time ago with my guild. We were all pretty much noob then, playing old-school dual smite with e/mos and we got a skip to halls. The holding team was some hex degen that held for a few hours, there were people from 'famous' guilds there like EW. Anway, the holding team rushed us and we got wiped after something like 2 min. We got shrine ressed and spawn killed, and again. When we all had something like 45% dp they left us alone and fought the other team. At 2 min we ressed and just started running aimlessly towards the altar (I remember myself getting lost in all those staircases) and guess what, we got our share of luck for the day and won. I can still remember all the OMG NOOB YELLOWS WON WTF spams, and ofc our monk saying "we won because I healing breezed the ghostly in time".
I personally got a sigil which I still have :P
Match after we were holding against AeC and LOVE, and got wtfpwned.

I think this was back in August, we were playing Kinetic Fusion on Imperial Isle.

Both teams came out to center and engaged, suddenly people on my team started freezing up. One by one it happened to all of us. But we noticed that the other team was dcing as well. Everyone gets booted from the game from an err7 on both teams. We logged back in to find we had won because our paragon had not yet error'd out by the time the rest of their team had left the game.

I'm not sure if this is the reason our para was the last, but he has a terrible connection. So perhaps it just took longer for the game to register that he was gone. Anyway, if so bad connection saves the day.

best gvg game: was doing monthly tournaments on jade, and we aquired some serious DP. At VoD just made a mad dash towards their guildlord and had our monks block them out. And we won...i was like lol what?

Most fun: long time ago, i was on warriors isle and our ranger catapulted our own team, never laughed so much xD

anyway, the strangest game would be the one where some guild had to vs a guild of 12 because they mapped from urgoz or something. i've got a pic but i don't know where it is.

the 12-man GvG's were possible yes, i think Bomberboys Orks did it on observer :P was fixed fast though.

Funniest thing lately was facing Brothers of Kurzick Metal [SiSu] in a final AT round some months ago. Then ran 7 touchers and a water ele but we knew that and had some minutes to build against it. Result :

3 heal monks at base with life attunement, straight healing and resses.

4 warriors and 1 monk racing for their lord.

We won the gankrace, finished in 2ish minutes, they never even managed to kill our bodyguard

We won the AT ^^

Back in Prophecies we played an AoE spike build in Halls. In a 1v1 Courtyard match we started our spike and noticed that the other team also put up EoE and was bunched around it. One spike=8 deaths.

Worst GvG ever would have been vs. Bad Zig. Game ended up going 82 minutes on Uncharted Isle because they ran 3 monks, bsurge and the insanely overpowered Paragon that was around at the start of NF. Thank god we won...

I was playing my assassin in RA one day when I got a team of two sword warriors and a mesmer (who promptly left after seeing we didn't have a monk) and we were on the Crag map. The warriors were both gloating about how their swords are some much cooler then my daggers and how assassins suck.

Then we engaged the opposition. I shadow stepped to each member of the opposing team - first monk, then dervish, elementalist, and a necromancer and unleash my combo - killing all of them in one fine sweep before my warrior friends could even land a hit.

They accused me of hacking and left because they didn't want to get banned by being on a hacker's team >.>
